Life gets no easier with the pandemic and France has now decided to close its borders with the UK.
Only EU citizens are being accepted now by France and that certainly does not include travellers from the UK, except its own people of course and they must have tests and do quarantine.
France’s statistics however do show an improvement. Its seven day rolling average shows a 29% reduction in new cases and an 18% reduction in deaths. Even so new cases are over 62000 in the past week and deaths are 794, so a not insubstantial figure. Unlike the UK, the vaccination programme is well behind.
The underground murmur continues to go against the removal of restrictions at the end of June in the UK although the government will not say either way at this stage.
In the meanwhile all the indications are that the British are enjoying a long awaited break in the UK – staycation at its best! For once the country has been blessed with reasonable weather for a bank holiday and the beaches are once again packed!
