Wales now requires covid passes for people to attend certain events.
Where this will make most impact is on nightclubs. The rules are simple – if the venue is open after midnight, serves alcohol and has dancing, then a pass is required if you are over 18. Take care - this might just include wedding and other private parties.
A pass is also required in some other circumstances:
Attending:
indoor no-seating events with more than 500 people
outdoor no-seating events with more than 4000 people
any event with more than 10000 people including sports events.
The government has not ruled out the extension of the scheme if it appears appropriate to do so.
Your pass will show either that you have been double vaccinated or that you have had a clear lateral flow test within the past 48 hours.
As yet England has not adopted this scheme. Now that UK new cases have reached a seven day total of 265934, it looks as if the incidence of the virus is on the increase again so keep an eye on it. If it gets too serious, maybe the government will change their mind.
