Now we have got some of our freedom back, it looks like social distancing is a forgotten thing of the past. We are being shown so many pictures of crowds on beaches, groups of young people coming together for whatever reason and it is as if nothing had ever happened.

This is really sad because it looks rather like those who are committing these breaches of the covid rules are in facts the ones who are most at risk now because they have not been vaccinated. There is only going to be one outcome of this – a greater spread of cases and as we watch the first two weeks of the relaxations unfold, I bet the numbers of new cases will go up sharply.

Luckily the number of deaths is contained in double figures at the moment but that does not mean that people will not get ill.

These impromptu parties are a real problem and not only do they involve huge numbers ignoring the rules but they leave a terrible mess behind them as well. What is more is that unless the Easter holiday is a lot colder, this is not going to stop, is it?

Brace yourselves.
